Closely related to the training on the identification of SARS-CoV-2, which has been held from 09.-10. February, a guidance document focussing on the accreditation of medical laboratories performing molecular testing of COVID-19 has been developed by the trainers Aliki Stathopoulou and Ioannis Sitaras from the Greek Accreditation Body ESYD.
The document has been published on PTB website and later as an edited pdf-document, which will be uploaded to this website and shared with the WB6 ABs. The link is here: www.covid19.ptb.de/accreditation-of-medical-labs
The guidance document together with the training material form a good basis for the national accreditation bodies to publish specific requirements and guidance on accreditation, train their assessment personnel and provide guidance to medical laboratories seeking for accreditation for SARS-CoV-2 virus identification.
