CMCs in small volumes approved

Two new calibration and measurement capabilities (CMCs) of the Institute of Metrology of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IMBIH) received international approval by being published on 21.08.2020, in the Key Comparison Database (KCDB) of the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM), the globally highest authority for international recognition of measurement capabilities.

This recognition relates to the calibration of glassware equipment (flasks, cylinders) from 1 to 5000 mL and to piston operated apparatus (pipettes) from 20 to 5000 µL. It is mainly the medical and industrial sector who will benefit from the internal recognition of calibration certificates in the mentioned scope and range.

The recognition of the capabilities is a result of the successful participation in an Interlaboratory Comparison (ILC), which has been organized between countries from the region as the aim of SEE QI project 1, which was terminated earlier this year. Successful participation in internationally registered ILCs are one of the preconditions for the publication of CMCs in the KCDB. The PTB SEE QI congratulates IMBIH to this important milestone and to the hard work that has been required to achieve this goal.
