SEE QI fund (remotely) evaluated

The SEE QI Fund has been (remotely) evaluated by an external team of evaluators and the preliminary results were presented to the meeting of the Consultative Committee (CC)

In order to get an evidence-based feedback on the setup, procedures and results of the SEE QI Fund, the PTB project management decided to task an external evaluation of the Fund at an early stage, so that the recommendations can be considered in the remaining lifetime of the project and in a potential follow-up phase beyond 09/2021. External evaluation of a project is a standard procedure in PTB International Cooperation and shall contribute to individual and institutional learning and provides accountability towards the funding agency. The projects are evaluated against the 5 OECD DAC evaluation criteria, namely Relevance, Effectiveness, Efficiency, Impact and Sustainability.

The team of evaluators collected the required evidence by an extensive document review and 28 virtual interviews with key project stakeholders between 29.06. and 10.07.2020. Despite the lack of face to face meetings and on-site visits e.g. of laboratories, the evaluators were satisfied with the information that was available via document review and remote interviews.

The preliminary results were presented by the evaluators to the 2nd meeting of the SEE QI Fund’s Consultative Committee, which was held virtually via videoconference on 09.-10.07. The Summary of the final report will expected to be uploaded to the website in September/October.
